Printing and Publication: June 2026

With Friends Instagram

With Friends is a creative collective creating a community where artists can freely express their ideas and showcase their awesome artistic talents in low-stakes, high-quality magazines.

Sometimes it is easier to fall back on the comforts of the past than to deal with the uncertainties of today. In our debut magazine, we hope to explore what it means to face your fears, live for yourself, and most importantly, to grow up. Drawing on the ideas of childhood, memory, and nostalgia, the first issue of With Friends unites artists under a common thematic umbrella to explore the past.

Whispers and Echoes Co-Curation

October, 2025`

Whispers & Echoes presents student work from ARTS 3020: Color Theory with Paul Kenneth, tracing how illusion and repetition shape our ways of seeing.

In the first project, students worked with an achromatic palette to explore the surrealist tradition through value, contrast, and tonal range. Inspired by early experimental films such as Meshes of the Afternoon and Metropolis, these compositions evoke dreamlike atmospheres and distorted realities. By removing hue, students discovered how light and shadow alone can generate depth, mood, and the foundations of visual perception.

Patterns, by contrast, hold a dual power: they can unify and organize, or obscure and disrupt. In the second project, students investigated how color and repetition interact to create camouflage, optical illusions, or cultural symbolism. Through chromatic experimentation, they asked: What does it mean to see and be seen? How do patterns shape perception, identity, and meaning?
